Background and Experience
Kris is a long-time resident of southwest Florida, having first moved to Naples in 1988.
Upon graduation from Barron Collier High School, Kris departed for Annapolis, Maryland where he attended United States Naval Academy. There he earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (“The Central Science”) and was commission as an officer of the U.S. Navy in May of 2001. Kris received additional extensive training at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, Nuclear Power Training Unit, and Naval Submarine School before arriving to his first sea-going command. While serving aboard the nuclear-powered Fleet Ballistic Missile submarine USS KENTUCKY (SSBN-737), Kris attained the designation of Submarine Warfare Officer and subsequently completed qualification as Nuclear Engineer Officer. Kris functioned as Assistant Force Nuclear Power Officer, Commander, Submarine Force Atlantic before resigning his commission in 2007.
Following honorable discharge from military service, Kris began a career in aerospace engineering. Responsibilities as electrical subsystem engineer at Space Systems/Loral included providing for and managing the design, manufacture, integration, and certification of complete commercial satellite power systems. After a brief period at Ball Aerospace & Technologies, Kris would go on to lead and manage a team of more than 20 engineers at Lockheed Martin working under various classified U.S. Department of Defense missile and space-based projects. Kris also contributed his talents as a contractor for NASA and has closely participated in numerous launch campaigns.
From 2007 through about 2010, Kris moonlighted in Silicon Valley as a contributing writer at AnandTech.com where he published a series of technical articles focused on developing the true potential of high-performance compute systems and other new and emerging technologies. Kris has been managing network systems and engineering custom liquid-cooled PCs for more than 25 years and was an early advocate and proponent of the art of overclocking. Many of Kris' unique contributions to the industry are referenced in patent filings, including some by Intel Corporation.
Having toured the world, Kris would eventually return to his hometown of Naples with his wife, Lynnette, and three beautiful children to co-found Jump Point Technologies with his brother-in-law Shawn in 2021.
